The traditional Neapolitan 'Ruoto' pizza pan made of copper.
"According to an ancient tradition the real Pizza Napoletana, or better said the soft pizza which the whole world envies is baked in a Ruoto ( round oven baking pan). Using this special baking pan the Ruoto allows you to make also at home a soft and tasty pizza despite of the simple ingredients used for it. A copper Ruoto ( baking pan) is very light and the heat is distributed homogenously on all its surface and a high temperature can also be achieved with domestic ovens. Baking time is less compared to regular steel pans thus saving energy and protecting the environment.
Once it was used by housewives and thanks to Cu Artigiana Copper masters is now again highly estimated. The small cuts on the pan allow you to spread oil or grease on it making the pizza crunchy, rendering it unique and unachieved.
A pizza baked in a Ruoto is a soft, rustic, wonderfully smelling and above all tasting product which can also be kept for the next day without losing its flavour and still remaining soft. A little secret… the next day a pizza in the Ruoto is even tastier… try it!"
Made from solid copper, it is hand-hammered into shape using traditional Italian production methods. This can be seen by the small indentations on the surface finish. The copper pan is hand tinned over fire with 100% virgin tin.
Copper is known for its superior heat conductivity and even cooking. It is loved for its quick response to temperature changes.
Suitable for use in the oven. Maximum temperature 220°C.
Not suitable for induction hobs.
Use with wooden or non-scratch utensils when cooking to avoid damaging the internal tin coating.
With care, copper pans can last for generations and be cherished for many years.
A true heirloom piece.
Beautifully handmade in Sant'Anastasia (near Naples) by Cu Artigiana's master craftsmen.
Dimensions
Width: 31cm
Height: 2.5cm
Base diameter: 28cm
Material and Care
Copper and Brass.
Tinned copper cookware must absolutely not be brought into contact with heat fire or put in the oven, without first having greased it with a layer of fat or having poured liquid on it like oil, water etc. Use a low flame. Maximum temperature 220°C. The use of a dishwasher is not recommended.
Internal cleaning
Wash carefully before and after use with normal kitchen detergent and rub with a sponge, avoiding abrasive or metallic ones. Protection of tinning To prolong the life of the tinning we recommend using wooden cutlery, avoiding metal ones or sharp ones, which can scratch. It is also recommended to cook over a low heat. With continuous use, tin, in contact with the acidity contained in some elements, tends to darken. It is a natural reaction and does not affect its hygiene. If the tin coating is no longer uniform, it will be essential to proceed to a new lining, you can consult our customer service in this regard.
External cleaning
Our objects are not externally protected with transparent paints which could be harmful at the time of use. With continuous use the exterior will take on that characteristic ancient copper colour. For those who prefer shiny copper we recommend using (externally only) cleaning products for copper. These are easily available on the market or the classic solution of vinegar and salt.

What's inside?
A sneak peek to show you how we package up our parcels.
Each item is scrutinised before being sent. We only send items that reach our quality standards. Wooden items, such as handles, might feel a bit rough from the manufacturer. Our team in the UK hand sand some of these items to make sure the item is at its best.
We hand wrap delicate items before sending them to you to ensure they are protected and reach you in perfect condition. We don't believe in excessive packaging and believe the tools speak for themselves.
We hope to do our bit for the environment and reduce plastic waste. Most of our packaging is paper based and is non-laminated, which can be easily recycled or composted at home.
We aim to reuse materials and packaging where possible and this is usually the only plastic you will find in your parcel. This plastic protection can also be recycled.
